All the fun of the fair in Caen
From 20 to 30 September, the Normandy 2014 Organising Committee and the local associations involved in the event came together at Caen International Fair in order to promote the 2014 Games. In addition to the numerous activities on offer in the Road Tour van and the advance ticket sales organised on 28 September, all eyes were trained on the outdoor school, where pony rides and demonstrations of the 8 official disciplines of the world’s greatest equestrian event took place as part of the Games’ promotion.
Advance ticket sales
Since 6 June, ticket sales for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014TM in Normandy have been open only to members of the French Equestrian Federation. However, the Normandy 2014 Organising Committee decided to give impatient members of the general public an advance opportunity to snap up their tickets on Saturday 28 September at the Road Tour stand. 250 lucky visitors took advantage of this unique opportunity to buy their Passes before anyone else!
For anyone who missed this event, not to worry: ticket sales will open to the general public on 18 November at the following address: https://ticket.jemfeialltech2014normandie.fr. There is still a little while to wait, but before long everyone will have their chance to buy a ticket for the essential sporting event of 2014!
Demonstrations by exceptional horsemen and women
In addition to these exclusive ticket sales, numerous visitors were able to admire the 8 official Games disciplines and enjoy pony rides organised by the Organising Committee in the outdoor school located right at the heart of the Fair. These demonstrations, led by expert horsemen and women, not only enabled fans to watch a top-class show, but also to discover all of the techniques and values of each discipline by asking the exhibitors questions. The pony rides delighted the younger visitors, giving them a taste of the joys of being in the saddle! And, of course, Norman the mascot was on hand to provide the entertainment!

The Games’ Road Tour
During its travels around France and all over Europe, the Games’ Road Tour van stopped off at Caen Fair to once again meet with the people of Normandy, after its visits to St Lô, Cabourg, Le Pin National Stud and Canteleu. Visitors enjoyed the numerous entertainment activities set up inside the van: posing with Norman, the official mascot; having their photograph taken in our photo booth (wearing a cowboy hat, a riding hat or a top hat, or brandishing a whip); buying products from our online shop; taking part in various games; winning prizes and much more!
For those who have not yet crossed paths with the Games’ Road Tour van, come along to the Equita’Lyon exhibition, from 30 October to 3 November, or the Salon du Cheval in Paris at the beginning of December. See you soon!
