Since the 4 competition venues in Caen will host 7 of the 8 official Games competitions, the Organising Committee is planning on making 4,500 free parking spaces available to spectators, in the shape of 2 park-and-ride facilities located near to the city of Caen: in Beaulieu, and in Presqu’île neighbourhood of Caen.
A free shuttle bus service will run between these car parks and the 4 competition venues in Caen:
- D’Ornano Stadium : Dressage, Jumping, jumping phase of the Eventing
- the Zenith : Vaulting
- La Prairie Racecourse : Driving, Para-Dressage
- The Exhibition Centre (Reining).
Special parking areas will also be available for people with disabilities, so that they can park as close as possible to the venues.
CAEN - LE PIN NATIONAL STUD : Direct trains connect Caen to Argentan in approximately 45 minutes. On August 30th, for the Cross Country competition, free shuttles will operate between the train station of Argentan and Le Pin National Stud.
CAEN - SARTILLY: The Granville train station is located about 15 kilometers from Sartilly, where the Endurance competition will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2014. No shuttle service will be provided between the station and the competition venue. It is therefore recommended that all spectators use a car to get to the venue.
The Lower-Normandy region - the agglomeration of Caen in particular - has a very good system of public transportation, with a multitude of buses and trams.
The four competion venues of the city of Caen are located within a 1.5-kilometre radius of Caen city centre, so you can easily walk between the sites ! For the less adventurous, you will get to use free shuttles to go from one site to the other.
Parkings for 2 wheels vehicles will be installed on all competition venues.
