ENDURANCE: France’s Klervi Lefebvre wins the CEI 3* of Montcuq

An International Endurance Competition took place in Montcuq on 2nd and 3rd November, over a course comprising two 100 km loops. The title-holder, Spain’s Olga Llaurado Gulu, was not present to defend her title, but nevertheless the field of seventy-nine participants boasted highly-talented riders from all over the globe.  In the end it was Brittany-native Klervi Lefebvre, riding Monia de Montamel, who forged ahead, finishing the race in 10 hours, 10 minutes and 57 seconds, an average of 18.758km/h. She beat her own record from last year, when she finished in fifth place with a time of 10:28:30.

After a tireless battle, Lefebvre completed the course just three seconds ahead of her compatriot Nicolas Ballarin, on Lemir de Gargassan. France’s Barbara Lissarrague, who was crowned World Endurance Champion in Dubai in 2005, took third place on Preume de Paute, with a time of 10:25:45, an average of 18.314 km/h. Émile Lambert and Delphine Johnson rounded off this all-French Top 5. The first foreign rider to finish, Germany’s Sabrina Arnold, came sixth with a time of 10:38:10.
